32BJ SEIU SUPPORTS JON KAIMAN FOR CONGRESS IN NY-03
32BJ SEIU; with 175,000 members, the largest union of property service workers in the United States, endorsed Jon Kaiman, Democratic Candidate for NY’s 3rd Congressional District. NY-03 covers Northeast Queens, the Town of North Hempstead, much of the Town of Oyster Bay and the City of Glen Cove.
32BJ SEIU President Kyle Bragg said:
“Whether as a lawyer, a judge, or local official, Jon Kaiman has always fought to make Long Island a better place to live and raise a family for working New Yorkers. 32BJ SEIU is proud to endorse Jon because Long Islanders and our entire state needs a proven champion for working people in Washington.”
In accepting the endorsement Jon Kaiman stated, “32BJ SEIU advocates for the men and women in one of New York City’s largest industries. I know the importance of working with and supporting labor, as well advocating for working people. I look forward to working with 32BJ SEIU members on improving wages and benefits and ensuring fair working conditions and collective bargaining rights in the workplace.”
Jon Kaiman’s campaign previously announced the endorsements of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Locals 1056 and 1179 and former NYC City Council Member and labor activist I. Daneek Miller.
Kaiman previously served as a District Court Judge, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor, Chair of the Nassau Interim Finance Authority (NIFA), NYS Advisor for Superstorm Sandy and is current Deputy County Executive of Suffolk County.
